Ilia Delegation visit to the Vatican & Rome: the Pope, Magna Graecia Fondazonie & Greek Ambassador
During a special visit to Rome & the Vatican, Ioannis Tsamichas & Spyros-Nikitas Tsamichas had the honor to be part of a distinguished delegation that included the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection of Greece, Andreas Nikolakopoulos, the mayors of Andravida-Kyllini and Ancient Olympia, along with key regional representatives. They had the privilege of being received by His Holiness, Pope Francis, marking the beginning of a strong spiritual and political partnership between the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Roman Catholic Church, and Ilia. This collaboration is poised to drive development and progress in the region, with a shared focus on culture, spirituality, and sustainable growth.
The delegation also visited the Magna Graecia Foundation, where discussions centered on deepening the cultural and historical ties between Greece and Italy. The Foundation, known for its commitment to preserving and promoting the shared heritage of Magna Graecia, plays a vital role in fostering a modern Greek-Italian partnership. The meeting emphasized the mutual benefits of cooperation in tourism, education, and cultural exchange, further boosting bilateral relations.
Additionally, the delegation met with Greece’s Ambassador to Rome, Mrs. Eleni Sourani, to discuss matters of security and the importance of strengthening transnational cooperation between Greece and Italy. The focus was on building a robust framework for collaboration that would not only address contemporary challenges but also reinforce the longstanding friendship and shared values between the two nations. This visit signals a promising future of closer ties, collaborative projects, and enhanced economic and cultural exchanges between Greece and Italy.
